Job Summary  

​​The Business Systems Admin supports an ‘end to end’ Planning process by providing a reliable toolset and efficient business process. This individual is a trusted ‘SME’ for Business Planning that the team can count on. They empower teams through meaningful data, reporting, and the integration of the GTM calendar. By building collaborative partnerships they drive consistent fundamentals, and challenge the status quo, enabling continuous improvement. They act as the ‘Super user(s)’, with varying degrees of system admin responsibility (PA/MSO), maintaining strong working relationships to test, troubleshoot, and maintain an integrated system to meet the business needs. They balance IT and Business facing relationships and needs to get the job done for Planning.​

Representative Responsibilities  

  • Participate in projects as required and support the Planning leadership teams key initiatives  

  • Collaborate and translate between Planning and IT groups, maintaining relationships with IT Product teams involved with Planning Solutions  

  • Contribute to the Planning Team success by supporting the effort to understand the business needs and identify how best to meet those needs, providing suggested solutions, and challenging the status quo  

  • Share the administration of the Planning systems as the ‘Product Owner’ for ‘Planning Analytics’ and ‘MSO’ to ensure it performs consistently  

  • Create, evaluate, document, and modify, the operations, practices, and procedures of our Business Planning team (integrated with our system functionality). Business process’s needs to drive empowered associates, and profitable outcomes, integrated with the key GTM milestones and monthly planning cycle (MBR / SIOP) activities.   

  • Demonstrate clear leadership skills and the ability to influence and persuade peers and leaders  

  • Coach, and develop planning team’s knowledge of systems and process as a trusted Planning & Systems ‘SME’  

  • Partner with BI teams / tools to review, assess, and create meaningful data and exception reporting  

  • Quick to learn and absorb technical information and communicate effectively at different levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.  

  • Coordinate & develop the centralized training of new Business Planning team members on the fundamentals of our Planning Tools and Systems   

  • Take initiative to keep up to date and to maintain awareness of Carhartt Business Units & their ongoing performance and strategies  

 

Required Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience  

 

Required Skills & Experience  

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning or forecasting field   

  • Analytical thinker with strong aptitude for Retail math and forecasting methodology.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and retail partners  

  • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload, juggling multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.  

  • Self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual ready to bring energy and excitement to lead their business  

  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office and Planning tools)  

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

  • Typical office environment; cubicle/office setting.   

  • Occasional out of office hours working   

  • Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required.   

  • Travel required, may be up to 10% of time   

  • ​​This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.​
