Job Summary  

​​The CCG Business Development Representative is responsible for finding and developing new business, as well as maintaining existing end user work wear programs. For this team, the majority of their activity and focus is of the complete sales pipeline management – from lead generation to the closing of the sale. S/he is also responsible for representing Carhartt at conferences, events, and training seminars, and providing cross-team coverage for national or regional distributors who have opportunities for joint end-user sales calls and field tests. This role includes responsibility for both the assigned industry(s) of focus as well as additional national business opportunities as directed by the CCG Business Development Manager.​

Representative Responsibilities  

  • Works strategically to maximize the generation of profitable revenue by identifying and calling on end user leads and prospects  

  • Understand and align with the annual CCG Sales goal & revenue plan and prepares targets, strategy, and activity within the focus industry that supports goal(s) achievement  

  • Knowledge and familiarity of CCG product assortment  

  • Maintains industry expertise and consistently informs all appropriate leadership, peers, and other supporting associates of industry trends, which effect their ability to support the CCG business.  

  • Develops and maintains subject matter expertise for all assigned focus industries  

  • Develops a monthly calendar of activities that result in the generation of revenue and supports corporate strategy  

  • Effectively navigates large and highly complex organizations  

  • Researches end user potential decision makers and end user organizations to identify new sales opportunities within target industry(s) for continued growth of the CCG business unit.  

  • Assesses and assigns end user opportunities to the appropriate channel partner(s) (including direct and distributors) based on the needs of the end user customer  

  • Maintain accurate records of activity in Sales Force (CRM)  

  • Utilizes Sales Force (CRM) to provide visibility on total pipeline volume and rate of confidence to close deals  

  • Deliver effective, tailored messages to all levels from the program managers to the C-Suite personnel of an end user organization  

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, seminars, joint distributor sales calls, end user meetings, and training events  

  • Utilizes the trade show process/timeline to include lead generation and follow up  

  • Maintains and supports the CCG RFP/Flagship Opportunity process with cross-functional partners  

  • Collaborates with cross-functional CCG departments such as marketing, merchandising and planning  

  • Understands and executes corporate objectives  

  • Adheres to sales policies and procedures and manages expenses according to corporate guidelines  

  • Performs other duties as required  

 

Required Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business or related field) or equivalent experience  

 

Required Skills & Experience  

  • Minimum 3 years outside sales or marketing experience required; apparel industry preferred; to include a minimum of 1 year of industrial / B2B experience required  

  • Above Average Skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

  • Typical work from home and/or office environment. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required.   

  • Willing to work some weekends if necessary.   

  • National and/or International travel required (up to 80%).   

  • May be required to lift up to 30lbs.   

  • ​​This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.​
